Help our BEETLE
Fly to Edinburgh
Your support will help us take our newest production to this year’s Edinburgh Fringe and position Legs for further international success …
Donations over $2 are tax deductible in Australia.
WITH YOUR SUPPORT WE WILL >>>
TAKE AN ORIGINAL STORY TO THE NEXT LEVEL
Beetle sees an original story (concept by Joshua Thomson) told through Legs’ trademark physical storytelling and animation based on specifically commissioned artworks by beloved children’s illustrator and author Freya Blackwood. It’s a rich and unique production which deserves a wide audience, and we can’t wait to share it with families abroad (and here at home once we get back!)
PRESENT OUR WORK INTERNATIONALLY
An invitation by House of Oz in Edinburgh sees Legs presenting our brand new show overseas at a critical time (this August!) after recent years of pandemic impacts. We have leapt at this opportunity to take Beetle abroad to a vital showcase for touring arts practice. Your support will augment what we’ve received from commissioning partners NAFA and The Art House Wyong and propel us in this venture.
BUILD ON RECENT SUCCESSES
Taking this opportunity sees Legs going global once again, acting nimbly to take new presentations overseas within 12 months of premiere: just as we did with THAW at Nelson Arts Festival NZ last year. Being present on the ground internationally will allow our team to further our reach and secure new opportunities for our entire repertoire.
INSPIRE KIDS AND FAMILIES ABOUT NATURE
Beetle reflects on the importance of balance in the natural world, habitat preservation and - in its own way - environmental consciousness; making the point that even small actions and small creatures can make a big difference. We have recycled set elements and reduced our carbon footprint as part of our mission to reflect our values in our practice.
